Two ProMatDX 2021 Education Sessions Explore How To Select An Automated Storage And Retrieval System And Calculate ROI
During ProMatDX 2021, members of the ASRS industry group of MHI will present two separate education sessions covering the selection of automated storage and retrieval systems for an operation and how to most accurately calculate an expected return on investment (ROI) when purchasing this technology. Open to all ProMatDX attendees free of charge, the two sessions will each run for 30 minutes.
The first seminar, “Determining What ASRS Solution Is Best For My Application,” will be held on Monday, April 12 from 2:30 – 3:00 p.m. Central time. During the presentation, prospective and current owners and users of automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) will learn the types of information required to assess the technology options. A guided tour of the full range of ASRS solutions currently available will include unit load, mini-load, vertical lift modules (VLMs), shuttles, horizontal and vertical carousels, and cube-based storage, as well as the applications for which each technology is best suited. The presentation will further offer insights into the maximum and minimum height ranges of each system, as well as their costs (relative to each other) and the typical timeframe for their design, engineering, installation, and commissioning. Participants will also takeaway a checklist of the necessary data and business requirements to be considered when evaluating and selecting an ASRS solution.
The second seminar, “How To Calculate ASRS/ROI: Key Metrics That Often Get Overlooked,” will be presented on Wednesday, April 14 at 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. Central time. Attendees will learn how to develop accurate and meaningful ROI calculations for their ASRS, including the key metrics that should be used. In addition to comparing conventional, non-automated solutions to an ASRS, the session will cover how to include direct and indirect expenses, and how to use a sensitivity analysis to understand the potential impact of different factors on the ultimate ROI outcome.
Those who are unable to attend the ASRS sessions in person may still access the presentations and their accompanying audio via recordings that will be made available online after ProMatDX concludes. Registration for the entire event — including all education seminars — is free.
